If the function was working in the past you might try a system restore. When you go to open command prompt, right click and run as administrator. This will scan the system files and correct any errors that it can. Open up command prompt and run the following command SFC /scannow.
This should reset the hardware in the computer. Hold down the power button for 15 sec while booth power sources are removed. Go to device manager and uninstall the keyboard.
